With nothing more than guitar, drums, vocals and a red-raw recording, Brooklyn's Drunkdriver recalls early, bleak, instrument-based noise/rock outfits like Ramleh, legions of spastic hardcore bands of the mid-90s, and a skein of ugly truth about punk's rotten corpse. Guitarist Kristy Greene's singular tone and riff-based approach are clearly her own, amping up the proceedings to dangerous levels. Drummer Jeremy Villalobos plays with an unerring mechanical drive; his blasts and rolls across the kit sound like bombs hitting foreign soil. Tormented vocalist Michael Berdan is going to take it out on you the whole time. Drunkdriver is touring the East Coast, Midwest, and South all throughout November, and has shared bills with Pissed Jeans, Pink Reason, Eat Skull, Psychedelic Horseshit and all that other crap.
